Bernina Dorsey is the Vice President of HR and Operations at Freedman Consulting, LLC, bringing over 20 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resource Management. A dynamic and strategic leader, Bernina specializes in organizational design, career development, employee relations, and HR compliance. She has successfully supported organizations across industries including media, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and nonprofits.
In 2024, Bernina earned her Juris Doctor degree with honors from Purdue University Global and is scheduled to take the bar exam in July 2025. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MBA from North Park University.
A passionate advocate for women and youth empowerment, Bernina regularly speaks at events and leads workshops designed to help women build confidence and realize their full potential. She is a licensed and ordained minister and serves in a leadership role with her local chapter of Jack and Jill of America, where she helps nurture the next generation of African American leaders.
Bernina’s dedication extends far beyond her professional achievements. She actively volunteers at homeless shelters throughout the Chicagoland area, supporting adults and children, and helping individuals enhance their job preparation skills. Her global outreach includes several mission trips across Africa, where she has led impactful initiatives, including negotiating the release of women detained for unpaid medical bills.
