Sonia is an innovative and highly experienced financial expert and transformation strategist with success in finance and accounting, transformation, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic value add through thoughtful planning and restructuring. She has experience in multiple industries including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals/life sciences, financial services, water technology and business process organizations. 

Sonia is currently the Senior Vice President of Global Tax, Risk Management and Treasurer at Perrigo Company plc. She transformed the tax and treasury functions, created value through strategic initiatives and mitigated risks. Prior to Perrigo, Sonia was the VP and Chief Tax Officer at Conduent for three years where she stood up a new tax department after a spin-off from Xerox, executed strategies to minimize the effective tax rate as well as cash taxes, implemented tax planning strategies to mitigate the impact of Tax reform (TCJA).

At the foundation of her versatile strategic, and innovative leadership, Sonia spent 25 years progressing through diversified roles in tax, finance, risk management and accounting.

Sonia is a Certified Fraud Examiner who holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from Pace University, an M.S. in Taxation from Bentley University and an M.S. in Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. Sonia also holds certificates in Post Crisis Leadership, Diversity & Inclusion, Certified Treasury Professional and Business Analytics.

Sonia is a member of several professional organizations including Tax Executives Institute, Financial Executives International, National Diversity Council, The Conference Board- Treasurer’s Council and the Association for Finance Professionals.

Sonia has served on various panels for EY, Mercy College, National Diversity Council and the International Tax Review. For the past 20 years, Sonia has also served as an Adjunct Professor at various educational institutions
